A simply fabulous an extra RARE book regarding men, mens' fashion and fine tailoring, men's style, hats, wigs, gloves, stockings, buttons, under garments, masks and masquerade balls, boots, and even swords and much more...history of tailoring and famous tailors, masculine culture and social habits, male etiquette and manners, male fashion etiquette, male friendships, and known and secretive lifestyles of the early 19th century male....Title is ....HABITS AND MEN...subtitle "with Remnants of Record Touching the Makers of Both"....by Dr. Doran.... OF MERCHANT TAILORS***CHAPTERS ON BEAUX***THE BEAUX OF THE OLDEN TIME***BEAU FIELDING***BEAU BRUMMEL***BEAU NASH***THE PRINCE De LIGNE***DOCTORS READY DRESSED***ODD FASHIONS*** Condition.... this is my opinion...CONDITION is overall good, especially for a book that is going on 160 years old....Complete.....All pages intact and well bound.....no missing pages....Covers are in good shape, with normal shelf wear, etc with corners bumped....Please see the photos.... the spine shows noticed edge wear top and bottom and has some fading...and there is s slight separation line between the spine cover and back cover, but the hinges are not cracked through and the covers are well attached and are not loose or not falling off..... pages tightly bound....gilt stampings on spine are faded a bit but clear, ...Inside pages are all there, no rips, tears or holes or bug bites...no dog ears...the pages have aged coloration and there is foxing on most pages, but the paper is still fairly supple, not brittle or dry...No musty odors......End papers are clean, with some bit of age spotting...Not an ex library book, no book plates or stamps.....no writing in the book.....The book has some age but is still a great and very scarce reference.
