As near as i can tell this is a Violin dating from the 1850's. There are 2 tags inside one with a date of 1787 and the other dating 1855...im more inclined to believe the 1855 date to be the correct one. The only other information i could come up with is the following: Repariert von A. Nenendorff Gartz 1855 this is the only information i was able to get from the inside of the instrument. There are more tags inside but they are not legible (at least with the resources i have available to check these things). The instrument is in fair condition considering the age. It does have some very visible wear though both front and back. The case is wooden and has been modified from its original condtion at some point. The original closures have been removed and replaced with simple latchhooks and 2 of the screws in the rear hinges have been replaced. The bow for the instrument has a mother of pearl inset. The interior of the case is rather rough but appears original. I admittedly know very little about violins...especially older ones. I will however answer any questions anyone has to the best of my ability. Thank you for your interest.
