Original pre Civil War era map of the James River & Kanawha canal running from the Atlantic Ocean to the Ohio river. Dated 1857 Drawn by E Lorraine C.E 1857 Chromo & Lith Of Ritchie & Dunnavant Richmond Va. Eng by C Ludwig. Measures 60 x 27 inches. It has been rolled and appears to have been folded as well. Map part (top half) is in good condition . White part (bottom half) seams have some holes and some light brown stains to the left side (may be water stains from the trip on the canal). Edges are a little rough also. Scale is 10 miles to the inch. I consider this to be about an 7 on a scale of 1-10 as far as condition but I don't sell a lot of maps.
