For your consideration comes an antique rosewood cabinet Ingraham & Co. 8 day mantle clock, 17" tall X 10 1/4" wide X 4" deep. Paper label inside clock states "Eight Day Brass Clocks, Elias Ingrahams Pat Dec 22d 1857 E. Ingraham & Co., Bristol, Conn. Warranteed Superior" with directions on how to regulate/wind clock. This label has some age stains around its edges. The glass door that covers this opening is missing we belive, as t is a small brass finger that moves to latch it tight. The clock had no pendulum when we rescued it from an attic, so we hung an old lead weight to see if it would work or not and it runs really well, time is not kept perfect, hands don't advance well, but it chimes the hour on every hour, quite pretty chimes, and it does run for 8 days before needing to be wound again. The paper label face has a "W" over the one key wind in pencil and some scuffs to paper a bit. Above the face on the top brass ring it states "PAT MAY 10 1859". The back of the clock has four newer screws on it, and we thought we would remove the back to get some photos, but it wouldn't remove, so we didn't force it. The case is lovely as you can tell by the grain of the wood. We haven't attempted to clean or tamper with the clock whatsoever other than put the lead weight to get it running. A key will be included with the clock that was inside of it. Please check our other no reserve auctions, as were happy to combine shipping. Insurance fee varies with final bid, so wait till you get an invoice to pay. Delivery confirmation is included in the shipping quote. Email any questions or concerns.
