RARE 1859 LEATHER ISLAM ARABS FALKLANDS GHOSTS PRINTS Description: ON AUCTION HERE is a handsomely leather bound volume of The Eclectic Magazine for 1859, issues bound together in fine leather from January to April of that year. Published in New York, and embellished with 6 fine steel engraved prints by the great John Sartain, the foremost engraver of his day. Includes prints of Napoleon Bonaparte and Napoleon 3, as well as the one we scanned of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Sized 9 and a half by 6 and a half inches, bound in fine chocolate brown Morocco leather, with two leather spine labels, marbled boards, and matching marbled page block, pastedowns and endpapers. 592 pages. A Victorian era library bookplate. Great condition.
