Item is book titled Pictures of Slavery in Church and State; including personal reminiscences, biographical sketches, anecdotes, etc. etc. with an appendix containing the views of John Wesley and Richard Watson on slavery by Rev. John Dixon Long 3rd edition published 1859 William J. Moses Auburn . Cloth hard cover boards book complete at 418 pages. Spine cover with tears with some loss. Boards with wear and some spotting - heavy wear to board corners - chew marks to top front board. There is prior owners bookplate front inside cover. Dampstain present to bottom center section please reviews photos to assess condition. The picture of slavery are actually pictures presented in word as there are no illustrations. Early work on slavery with chapters stated on Southern slavery, Methodist Church and slavery, slavery in our conference, slave droves, tattling, slavery and popery, slavery and health, the money theory, slavery and revivals, salvery and mormonism , among others.
