Over the next couple of months I will be auctioning many items from the Estate of Hugh J. Grant and Lucie MacKey Grant. Mr. Grant was the son of NYC Mayor Hugh Grant, the city's youngest elected Mayor, who served between 1889 and 1892. He was also the grand-son of US Senator Edward Murphy, Jr. Hugh and Lucie lived in a 20 room townhouse at 20 East 72nd St. in Manhattan ahd when they moved to a 10 room penthouse just 2 blocks away, they kept their belongings in both places. Their townhouse is currently the home of the Vatican's Permanent Observer to the United Nations and the Residence of the Pope when he visits NY. The items from this estate I will be selling on Ebay will include rare books, furs, gowns and many personal items. In other words, items that will be easy for me to ship. This auction is for RARE 1860 1ST EDITION OF "THE KELLYS AND THE O'KELLYS" by Anthony Trollope published in NY by Rudd & Carleton. This book contains 432 pages plus 8 pages of ads. T is an 1861 inscription on the inside page, otherwise the pages are clean and unmarked and the binding is secure. T is some fraying on the spine. This rare book in it's original brown cloth boards is in very good condition. See photos for more details. Th is book is guaranteed authentic or your money back. I am starting the bidding on this book at $19.99 with no reserve. Shipping, handling and delivery confirmation in the US of $4.00 will be added to the total at the end of the auction.
