I have recently purchased a fabulous collection of Victorian Card Cases. They are the best to ever have been offered on Ebay. From the estate of the late Lily Ada Gotobed who died this year at 99. She was an importrant figure in the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies both as a judge and a demonstrator. Her other passion was collecting card cases throughout her life. Her collection slips in some cases show the date they were purchsed and how prices have changed since the 1960's. For the last decade of her life, she ensured that humidity levels in her home were kept constant to preserve the cases in such good condition. Mother of pearl and "faux" natural tortoise shell case. Approx. 2 3/4 by 4 inches. Front and back have the best carvings in mother of pearl. The lid has a flower with leaves and the case has an extremely detailed Grand house or estate . with defined windows and landscaping. Such a wonderful item to use currently with business cards or to keep some mad money cash. Pull this out of your case or purse at a meeting and the Sale will be yours. English French...I am not certain. Unfortunately the card has sustained some cracking to the faux tortoise shell. Especially to the back My price is indicative of condition. Still so rare! Payment is due in 7 days. INTERNATIONAL PLEASE EMAIL FOR CORRECT SHIPPING COSTS.
