Two original 1860 color maps published by A & C Black and from the same Atlas. One depicting the Highland region of Scotland, the other the Southern. These are being sold as one lot and will look fantastic matted and framed together. Printed within the lower section of the map an explanation for markings which indicate Railways, Roads traversed by Mail or stage coaches all year round and coaches in connection with the railways, Roads traversed by stage coaches or mail Phaetons all year round but only on certain days of the week, Raods traversed by stage coaches during the Summer months only, Roads suitable for Carriages, footpaths and steamer routes. The roads are illustrated throughout the maps as well as towns, villages, cities, mountains, rivers etc. Each map with a center fold as issued, Each map about 24 x 17 1/4 and placed together measure 34 x 24. Very handsome colors, crisp printing and highly detailed. US buyer to pay 6.50 priority mail postage. International buyers always welcome postage is 12.00.
