is a rare historial find! This is a Land Grant Document signed by President James Buchanan. Buchanan was our 15th President of the United States from 1857-1861. He was the only President never to marry and the only one from Pennsyvania. On March 3, 1855 A Act of Congress gave anyone who served in the War of 1812, 160 acres of land which usually went to the widow or minor child. This document granted 160 acres in Lecompton, Kansas to the minor of James Sneed, a Private in Captain Handley's Company, the Virginia Militia Nov. 1812. The document measures 15 3/4" by 10". It is thick stiff paper with it has its seal. It has been folded. Document is in excellent condition, no tears and minor yellowing. I guarantee this to been a authentic original document and authentic signature. 4.00 shipping.
