This is the one!!! 140+ Year old Beautiful Antique!!! Imagine His/Her suprise of this unique gift on Christmas Morning!!! This is a gorgeous 1860s CIVIL WAR ERA Empire Flame Mahogany Parlor Sofa (Circa: 1860s). This sofa weighs approximately 300 pounds and measures 40" in height, 84 in width, and 28" in depth. The seating area is 60" wide and 22" deep. If you love the simple elegance of Empire design and appreciate the beauty of its' original finish, then don't miss out on this opportunity to own this gorgeous parlor sofa. It is just the kind of transitional piece that would make a fabulous edition to any room of your home. It appears to have been recovered approximately 15 - 20 years ago. The fabric is in excellent shape. My wife and I have enjoyed it in our home and have recieved many admiring comments, ooooo's and aaahhh's. It is just too nice to be exposed to our one year old daughter :) We have kept it in a room safe from little hands. We have often thought of who may have rested on this beautiful sofa. Perhaps a Union or Confederate soldier ....? Hmmm... Don't waste the same amount of good money on a new sofa at a local furniture store, that will be at the dump in 10 years. Buy furniture that will stand the test of time (140+ years) and appreciate in value. Own a piece of American History. Novice antique collectors should be aware that any antique over 100 years old will have some type(s) of slight or minor imperfections or marks of character. It is exactly these time-acquired features that intrigue collectors to ponder about how the piece must have been used and by whom. Such marks of use and character only add to the authenticity, charm, and desirability of the piece.
