1860s Railroad Lantern with Red and Green sliding lenses. This is a very old Railroad Lantern circa 1860's with original front clear and thick beveled glass lens in brass trim. The two curved Red & Green lens are original and have bubbles from being hand made and curved. These lens slide back and forth with the side handles, which also have locking hooks. Lantern can display clear, red or green. The light source is a candle. Lantern is in remarkable condition for being over 140 years old. It is amazing none of the 3 pieces of glass are not cracked or chipped. It does have a some rust on the non-painted surface but t is no rusted thru metal. Front and top open up to insert or light the candle. T is a handle on the top and a handle on the back. Size is 6" in diameter and 14" high (handle extended up). Very Rare. I will double box this for shipping. Insurance is recommended. PAYPAL is the only form of payment I accept and payment must be made within 3 days of auction close. Thank You . Will only ship to confirmed addresses.
