George B. Davis, U.S.A., Mr. Leslie J. Perry, and Mr. Joseph W. Kirkley, Board of Publication. Compiled by Calvin D. Cowles, 23rd Infantry. Irvin McDowell, Topographical Survey by the Party in charge of H.I. Whiting, Asst. U.S.C.S. Field work executed during the parts of June & July 1861, by F.W. Dobb and C. Rockwell, U.S.C.S. Working force of field parties furnished by detail of soldiers from different regiments of Gen. McDowell's command." Also on the plate are 2 inset maps which include: #2) Sketch of Paducah, Ky and Vicinity. #3) Sketch of the Battlefield of Logan's Crossroads, Ky, U.S. Forces under the command of George H. Thomas. Map dimensions: 18" x 29.5" The Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies was published with an act of Congress by the United States Government Printing Office between the years of 1891 and 1895 as a history of the Civil War (or War Between the States) and constitutes 175 plates, of which this map is one, portraying a wealth of information on battle lines, topography, and military strategy. All maps were printed between 1891 and 1895 in lithograph color, primarily green, blue, brown, with the Union Army represented in blue, and the Confederate positions in red. Intricate Detail.
