This original Gould Hummingbird lithograph was removed from Gould's 1849-61 work "Monograph of the Trochilidae..." . It is hand colored with the two birds (Eriocnemis Squamata) accented with iridescent coloring. The two birds are commonly known as Allied Hermits. In the upper background of the work is the subtle image of a smoking volcano. The work measures 21 1/2" X 14". The work will be shipped flat with insurance.
