Consistent with our intent to bring you wonderful, original and extraordinarily attractive - not to mention rare - US coins in all series, we are very pleased to offer this magnificent 1861-O WB-103 Confederate Obverse Liberty Seated half dollar, PCGS-graded AU-55. An absolutely superb and very rare coin. The smooth, problem-free surfaces are covered by extremely thick, medium gray dirt toning. Very strong, caky luster radiates from all quarters. The strike is essentially full, but for some very minor and likely typical weakness at stars 7 and 8. The rims are perfect and the eye appeal is amazing. The WB-103 is the much tougher though somewhat less well-known cousin of the WB-102, which is the variety with the die crack to the nose. This 103 has an obverse die crack vertically through the date, and is die linked to a late state of the reverse die used to strike the 102's. In this way, we know this coin was struck by the Confederacy. Thanks for looking, and Winning bidder gets free US shipping by insured, first class mail. Please email with any questions.
