This is a very rare book of bound civil war newspapers from July 1 - December 30, 1862. The Title is "THE CHICAGO TIMES" printed in Chicago, Illinois. These newspapers are daily issues (Monday-Saturday). 154 total issues. The front cover and the first newspaper have staining but, the rest are very white and high quailty. The city of Chicago had the Great fire of 1871 and burned almost the entire city to the ground. It is likely that many of these printed issues perished as well. This is a scarce civil war volume.
