I am offering for your consideration Vol. 2 of Brigadier-General Silas Casey's U.S. Army Infantry Tactics for the Instruction, Exercise and Maneuvres of the Soldier, A Company, Line of Skirmishers, Battalion, Brigade or Corps D'Armee. This book is Vol. 2 of a set of three and was published by D. Van Nostrand, 192 Broadway, New York. It measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" and contains 279 pages. Volume 2 of this set is bound in black cloth rather than the green of Volumes 1 and 3 and has a gilt decorated spine. The cover is intact, tight and the book is complete with all text pages and plates present. I believe the plates to be crisp and well preserved. There are no loose pages. There is foxing on the pages and the insert between pages 240 and 241 is stuck together on the rear binding side of the page. A penciled entry on the first blank leaf of the volume states Found in Barracks Camp Frg, June 17th 1865. Underneath is Marshall Bagwill Co. G. 104....(I am unable to dicipher the rest).
