1 page, 7 1/2 x 4 1/4, in ink. "Centre Harbor, [N.H.], Oct. 10, 1862. Received of the town of Centre Harbor $125.00 U.S. bounty money that belonged to my son Bradford who has enlisted into the United States service agreeable to a vote of said town passed Aug. 9, 1862. Nathaniel H. Leach." Bradford Leach was 18 years old when he enlisted on 8/15/62 as a private in Co. I, 12th New Hampshire Infantry. He died on 12/25/62 at Falmouth, Va. Bold and neatly written. Very fine.
