Up for auction is this civil war era letter and bullets Unfortunately this letter does not mention anything about the war but it is dated 1863. According to his descendent (that I bought this from) he was on his way to the war when this was written and never ran into any action until he ended up in Gettysburg! What is fascinating is the envelope! The letter states that t were 2 men on this journey and their pay was $25 each so they would be sending home $30...and it actually say's it on the outside of the envelope! THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!! The only stamp on the envelope is one that say's FORWARED by the NATIONAL EXPRESS Co. (t is no cancellation). The back of the envelope has a wax seal. The only part that remains say's EXPRESS CO. WASHINGTON DC- I haven't been able to find any information on this, maybe you know? Also in this lot are 5 bullets from the same person I bought this letter from. I do combine shipping so Check out my other items !I try and answer all e-mails but I can not guarantee a quick response. I will do my best to respond provided I have enough time to respond. Please e-mail questions early. I reserve the right to remove items that have not received a bid at least 12 hours before the auctions end. All sales are final so PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS! ASK QUESTIONS! ASK QUESTIONS! ASK QUESTIONS! BIDDERS OUTSIDE OF THE US!!!!!!!
