The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, etc. NY: Carlton & Porter, 1863. 1st Ed Pocket style Civil War era King James version New Testament in the classic 'haversack' style. Shining gilt page edges. Original black leather with wallet style slip and catch, in good external shape, with some minor weathering to the leather, giving it a great 'field carried' patina. Spine with gilt rule and titling, some loss at the foot. Hinges intact. Pages lightly browned and stained, complete unmarked and bound firm. Measures 3.5" x 5". Great for re-en actors.
