1863 INDIAN HEAD PENNY; EXCELLENT CONDITION; NR This 1863 Indian Head coin is in excellent condition. T is very minor wear to the high points of the coin. The "LIBERTY" print area shows each letter clearly. T is a lighter strike of the word "OF". This variance is common in many early US coins. The lines in the feathers of the headdress are quite clear and all the lines in the obverse shield are bright and sharp. I have included many close shots at various angles so you can clearly see this coin in all it's glory. The angle shots show the thickness and crisp lines of the printing on the coin. It is sealed in a coin sleeve which may add a bit of glare. The coin has a bit of dark material in the low spots which I have not attempted to clean. I will leave that possibility to the next owner. It does help the high points to stand out! While not an expert, I believe this coin would grade AU-EF. I have provided extremely tight close up photos, and with the Auctiva jumbo picture capability, you can easily see all the features and the overall condition of this coin.
