I'm continuing to sell great ephemera from a collection I purchased at the estate auction of a long time collector. This is a rare fire insurance policy issued by the Lorrilard Fire Insurance Co. of New York. The policy is for $2300 coverage for barns, house, furniture, produce and livestock and is for 3 years. It was issued for David House of Westfield, NY and is dated Spet. 23, 1863. The cost of the policy was $13. Measures 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" when folded into 4ths. Very good condition except for some foxing and very short tears at the ends of the folds. A wonderful steel engraved vignette at the top. Enlarge the pictures for condition details. Wait until all auctions are completed and I will send an invoice with combined shipping charges. I will sell to international bidders but cannot insure items shipped outside of the US. It was brought to my attention that the envelope is dated 1900. The valentine is definitely much earlier and I would suggest that this isn't the original envelope.
