30 1/2 x 21, two sided imprinted form, filled out in ink. For Captain Louis Darmstatter's Company, 17th Missouri Infantry. Lists over 40 men with their names, rank, muster and pay information, etc. The remarks section of the document indicates that some of the men were killed in action at Vicksburg, Miss., and at 14 Mile Creek, Miss. Several others are listed as being sick in the hospital at Milliken's Bend. Signed by Louis Darmstatter, Capt. Commanding the Company, and by an Inspector and Mustering Officer whose name I can not make out. The document further indicates that the discipline, instruction, military appearance, and accoutrements of the company are good, that their clothing is worn, and that they are armed with Springfield rifled muskets. The muster roll is in overall very fine condition with typical splits at some of the folds. Scarce regiment to find material on.
