1 page, 8 x 10 1/2, A.D.S. in ink, by James T. Tosh. Head Quarters, Petersburg, February 2nd, 1863. Col. A.C. Moore, Comdg. 29th Va. Regt. Col., I am instructed by the Brig. Genl. Comdg. to notify you that Par.[agraph] II, Genl. Orders No. 59, issued from this office by Maj. Genl. French, Nov. 3rd, 1862, is so ammended as to read as follows: Hereafter, only the monthly returns will be required on the last day of each month. On the 5th, 15th & 25th, a field return will be required instead of the 8th, 18th & 28th, as heretofore. In accordance with the above you will forward your return with as little delay as possible that they may be consolidated & forwarded promptly from this office to Department Head Quarters. I am Col., Very Resptly., Yr. Obt. Servt., Jas. T. Tosh, A.D.C. Wear and light age toning. James T. Tosh, was born in Roanoke County, Va., and attended the University of Virginia, and the Virginia Military Institute. He was appointed adjutant of the 16th Virginia Infantry, Aug. 30, 1861, and Aide-de-Camp to General Raleigh Colston, Jan. 4, 1862. He was paroled at Farmville, Va., on April 30, 1865.
