A super fully struck example with outstanding luster and eye appeal. Many 1864 bronze `No L` pieces were struck with extremely worn dies, creating mushy details. This is because the Mint used the same dies to strike the bronze pieces and the earlier copper nickel pieces. Finding early die state pieces is therefore much harder than other dates.
