Civil War US Government Cavalry Saber Contracts New Jersey based sword maker Emerson and Silver had a five year run from 1860 - 1865. Records have led historians to estimate that the company produced nearly fifty thousand military swords during the war. When the fighting stopped, the company went belly-up. The sword itself is in outstanding "relic" or "battlefield pick-up" condition You don't need to drive to Sharpsburg or elsew else to see this hanging in some museum--behind glass--w all you can do is press your nose against the glass to say, "Wow...." and drool.
