Map Title: Map of Florida Date: 1864 Publisher: Johnson and Ward. Compiled, Drawn and Engraved Under the Supervision of J. H. Colton and A. J. Johnson for Johnson's Family Atlas. Johnson was a premier cartographer of the 19th century who made his fortune producing accurate, finely detailed maps for an armchair adventure-seeking populace. Size: 14 x 18 inches - this is a large map. Features: Original 1864 map, not a reproduction. Printed on high quality paper and hand colored in pink, light green and pale yellow tints. The colors are stunning! The border surrounding the map is a work of art in itself, and the black text is crisp and easy to read. Fine details are fascinating and include cities, towns, villages, railroads, common roads, many forts, geographical features.
