The item being offered is an original 1865 paper broadside proclaiming the "Order of Exercises" for the celebration of the "Anniversary of the Declaration of American Independence, At Cooperstown, PA, July 2, 1865." The broadside provides an outline of the activities to be undertaken during the celebration which was to be concluded with a "Brilliant Fire-Works In the Evening."

The dimensions of the broadside are approximately ten inches by seven and three-quarter inches. It is printed only on one side. The item has been folded and there are small tears at the margin of a couple of the folds. Also, there is some type of age-spotting, or staining, on the surface of the paper (See picture). Despite this, the patriotic sentiment of the small town celebration still resonates through a document which still is in Gd - VG condition.
