We offer: John Bumstead, On The Wing: A Book For Sportsmen , New York: Happy Hours Company, 1869. Good Condition. Cloth bound boards. Gilt hunting dog illustration on front board. Title on spine in gilt. Wear to the corners and edges of the boards, with light wear to the borders of the front and rear boards. Spine is sun-struck, with light wear - some loss at top and bottom of spine, but intact. Previous owner's name on front blank fly leaf. Frontispiece of "Canvas-back Shooting in Chesapeake Bay", with title page vignette of a bird. 15 illustrations, including: Woodcock Boring; Dogs, Guns, etc; A Bevy of Quail; Duck-Shooting on Ponds; Harbor Shooting; Wire-Twist and Damascus Barrel Iron; among others. Content includes: How Gun Barrels Are Made, The Setter and Pointer, Wild-Fowl Shooting, Rabbit-Shooting, Ruffed Grouse or Partridge Shooting, among others. 274 pages, with Catalogue of Books, Plays, Games, Puzzles, Parlor Fireworks, Novelties, etc., Published by the Happy Hours Company.
