This is really beautiful early English / British Majolica bowl decorated with a fairly large detailed sculptured fox looking into the bowl.The bowl is about 9 3/4" (24.7cm) x 8" (20.5cm) on a pedestal base for a nominal 2" (5cm) heigth.The raised pedestal allows for the sculptured raised fox"s body and bushy tail.The bowl inside has beautifully raised and painted grape leaves.This presents a "FOX AND THE GRAPES" theme quite well.T is a impressed English registry mark indicating a March 1869 date with parcel 3 maker's agent.It also has a impressed "E" and numbers as shown.This is a real pleasant item-not a usual cabinet item-that could be used as general neat really decorative accents or to fit nicely in your collection display.This has excellent workmanship in its decoration,design and construction.Nice example of a skilled pottery companiy.GREAT GIFT FOR YOURSELF OR SOMEONE SPECIAL!! ***CONDITION:This is used and is in good structural condition.The ears tips are blunt,almost like chipped,but the surface of the left one has full original glaze and the other has partial glaze.This has spider-like cracks on the bottom ,but does not have edge cracks. ***SHIPPING:This item would be shipped with U.S.Postal Service including packing/handling/materials ($3),U.S.delivery confirmation ($.75),and starting bid insurance ($1.75) which are required read more
