You are bidding on an gorgeous finely bound pocket sized Victorian era HOLY BIBLE from 1857 (London: Eyre & Spottiswoode, sold by Charles Courtier)! Fantastic finely bound pocket Bible demonstrating beautiful wooden boards with brass edges and corners, a working brass clasp, and central to the boards two metal designed motifs, as shown. The spine remains ruled leather with gilt titling and stamped designing as well, slightly worn at the extremities and edges. Page edges are stunning as well, with breathtaking gilt gauffered edges. Bible within is pleasantly kept, and complete, inscribed only on the first EP, which, along with the title and front board, have detached. Rear hinge secured. Measures 3.75" wide, 5.5" tall. A real gem.
