This is a page from the October 16, 1869 issue of the famed newspaper Harper's Weekly . This is not a print or a reproduction, this is the actual page from the newspaper, 137 years old guaranteed! This is a very sought after and scarce engraving of the interior of The New York Stock Exchange during a great deal of chaos . It measures approx 10 1/2 by 15 and is in great shape though t is alot of age discoloration. Personally I think that adds alot of character to the engraving. I've never viewed it as a negative, I think it adds to the image. This is definately one of my favorite of all of the Haprers engravings I currently have listed. Its a great image of the NYSE and its got lots of character. Will look great matted& framed! The caption below the top engraving reads... The New York Stock Exchange Board In Session, September 25, 1869. The caption below the lower engraving reads... Scene In The Gold Room, New York City, During The Intense Excitement Of Friday September 24, 1869. These incredible engraving shows many well dressed brokers on the floor of the exchange. The engraving is very very detailed and much nicer than my photos show. I don't have a great digital camera, the actual engraving is much nicer. Scroll down for lots of pictures... Please take a look through my other items as I will be listing many early 1850-1880 Wall Street related engravings.
