EARLY AMERICAN PRESSED GLASS COMPOTE BELL TONE FLINT GLASS SAWTOOTH PATTERN NEW ENGLAND GLASS COMPANY c1870 I SHIP WORLDWIDE Being offered in this sale is an early American pressed pattern glass compote in the SAWTOOTH pattern that was made by the New England Glass company circa 1870. It measures 10" tall and is 9 1/2" in diamter. The sawtooth pattern was made also made by McKee and Bryce in non-flint which tend to have less well defined sharp teeth and are lighter in weight. This piece weighs a little over five pounds and the teeth are well molded and defined. The flint content in the glass is very high. It rings just by rubbing your nails over the outer surface The condition is excellent. Other than some mold roughness along the inside edge of a few of the teeth which you need your fingers to find and I believe is factory original, t are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or grinding.
