What I have here is So Special! I'm sure you'll agree!! It's an actual folding chair that was used in a Boston Theatre in the late 1800's. What they did was keep this in the back of the theater's balcony folded up, then when they had an extra patron that wanted to sit in the box, they would pull this out so they had an extra seat. The chair is just Beautiful!! It's all walnut wood with burl walnut design on the top and bottom. There is still the paper label under the bottom seat (Unbelievable) that reads "Boston Furniture Company 1870." Now here's just something that's unreal. The Lady I bought this from is in her 90's and she told me how she bought it at the theater's auction sale in the 1920's and she said she paid $7.00 or $8.00 for it. But when she got it, it had a red velvet upholstery on it that was worn out, so she replaced the top back and bottom cushion with needlepoint she did some 50 years ago. And it's just like new! She said they hardly ever sat on the chair. The needlepoint is just gorgeous! It's a dark green with pink and rose flower's in a circular pattern. I tried to get the name of the actual theater in Boston where the chair came from but she just couldn't remember. What do you expect when your in your 90's! The chair is Very solid. There is some slight wear on the two sides of the burl wood design at the top as read more
