Early 1870’s Splint Basket Org. Slate Blue Painted Surface Exceptional! character of the basket An exceptional basket, the basket retains the original and untouched slate blue paint. It is a splint wood basket, from New York. The baskets paint is that of true authenticity and dry. There are no repaints nor touch ups, simply untouched. The basket has normal wear. All weaving is still very tight and sturdy, no breaks, no holes. Good double wrapped rim. Hand carved handle. Very hard and Rare basket to come by!
