Hello t You are bidding on a dark walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival bedroom set from the 1870s. It includes an gorgeous full-size bed complete with the headboard, footboard and rails, as well as a matching burgundy marble-topped 3-drawer dresser with ornate mirror. The whole set is absolutely breathtaking. It's too bad they don't make things like this anymore... The pieces are decorated with burled veneer inserts and feature handcarved wing and shell crowns. Overall, the set is in great shape, in particular the marble top, mirror, and headboard. The footboard and rails have several minor scratches and the footboard is missing one or two small trim pieces, as shown in two of the pictures, but it does not detract much from the bed. T is only one complete set of handles for the drawers (although the third drawer is not supposed to have handles). If you would like more pictures, let us know and we will email them to you ASAP. Not much is known about the history of the piece, including its maker and origin. All we know is in the item's title. It has spent at least the last ten years or so in the Barkley House, a historic home in Boone, Iowa, that has been converted into a bed and breakfast. It is currently for sale in an antique store, as you can see in the last picture, but we have not had any luck t Now we are trying eBay!
