Offered for sale is a stunning 1870's solid walnut with walnut burl Renaissance library table with a heavy, rose color marble top. Open-cut hand carved legs and trim, this table measures approx. 41 x 26" and stands 30 1/2" tall. The finial on the bottom is about 7" tall and 5" across. This remarkable table could also be used as a center table for a grand entrance or as a one of a kind lamp table with books. It is very heavy for its size, and so its hand carved claw feet have metal rollers, which are probably original to the table. It is a beautiful, eye-catching antique table, in very good sturdy condition, showing normal ware and age and t, to be expected from an item of its age. It has been refinished at one point in its past, which was done very nicely. My wife and I purchased it in early 2003 for our study / library, but we ended up never using it because of a contemporary style of the finished room. It is an attractive, beautiful table, and it is better for it that we send it to a new home. We would prefer that the buyer picks up this item from our suburban Boston home, but if necessary we will help buyer find the cheapest shipper for the continental US destination. Buyer will pay shipping and insurance costs directly to the shipping company of their choice . We tentatively estimated the delivery cost at $250, but this is not binding, because it could be less or more, depending on the shipping company. Of course t are no fees / no shipping charges for picking it up from our house, which we would prefer.
