1870s Rowing/Crew Trophy, Silverplate, Victorian This is a stunning rowing or crew trophy from either the 1870s or 1880s. IT measures 11 inches in height, the base is 4 inches in diameter. IT has an engraved crew scene on one side, pictured. The legs on the trophy are actually oars from a boat. The trophy is all silverplate, t is some plate wear from over the years which is to be expected from it being over a 120 years old. It is not signed by a maker or monogramed with a dedication to a race winner like most are. This was probably handed out right after a Rowing race so they did not have time to inscribe it. The person who we got this from had a bunch of Harvard items, we first assumed that this came from Harvard but after looking at examining it and not finding any name we cannot guarantee it is from Harvard, it could be one of many places. Winning bidder is to include $12 for shipping and insurance in the continental United States, please email for rates outside this area. We are always selling a number of unusual and ordinary items.
