1870's U.S. CUSTOMS AMERICAN SEAL LOCK CO NEW YORK PADLOCK / NO KEYUp for auction is an antique brass padlock by American Seal Lock Co. I DO NOT have a key, and the lock is in the closed position. The front reads, "U.S. CUSTOMS AMERICAN SEAL LOCK COMPANY New York PATENTED" with an impressed Eagle emblem. The bottom face of the lock shows good wear, so the patent month date is not legigible. The "1870" to the far bottom right is legible. I have no knowledge of vintage locks, so please review the photos carefully in order to make an informed decision. I am happy to provide additional information or photos. It measures approximately 3-7/8" at the longest point and approximately 2-5/8" across. It is a heavyweight piece weighing over one pound. Thanks for looking!
