1871 First American Edition of this Charles Dickens title, (first printed in Household Words in 1850 and then first published in book form in Reprinted Pieces in 1858. Except for a private printing in London in 1899, there was no separate English edition of this title). Published by Fields, Osgood and Co, Boston ~ A CHILD'S DREAM OF A STAR ~ with 11 wood engraving plates by Hammatt Billings, which are tissue guarded (2 tissue guards missing) this is a beautiful story of a boy who loses those he loves, but is comforted by a star.......
