for your bidding consideration is this absolutely wonderful antique trunk. This trunk is in completely original condition with a very early stenciled paper outer lining over a wood frame with black iron straping. The straping is lined and attatched to the trunk with brass ornate floral designed medallions attatched with a center nail or tack inside the medallion. T are two working iron latch locks on either side on the front of the trunk, each lock has a side latch that moves up or down to lock & unlock. In the center is a working key lock and the original key comes with the trunk. As you can see from the photo both front side locks are dated "Pat Jul 9 72". The outside underneath the trunk is black metal lined over wood. The original wall paper lining inside of the trunk is spectacular given it's age. T are no odors and over 95% of the lining is still intacked minus some staining. The wall paper has a beach ball or sea urchin design in gold & blue the colors are faded however still very visible. Inside the trunk underneath the lid t is a partial lithograph of a child with a yellow cockatoo. This trunk is in fantastic original condition. T is little ware as to be expected for an antique of more than 130 years. The leather strap on top of the lid is loose on one side as shown, however is securely attatched on the opposite side. The trunk measures 18"long, 12"tall, and almost 9"deep. Other than a little dusting needed I would rate this trunk in fabulous condition.
