1872-P U.S. Indian Head Penny
Up for auction is a PHENOMENAL Uncommon Variety 1872 Philadelphia Mint U.S. Indian Head Penny. This coin is truly a wonderful item and investment! The 1872 Indian Head penny is one of the key dates of the series, and this coin has been labeled as a "Broken D" Variety, as you can tell that the "D" in United States of America has a slight break. Coin has also been somewhat preserved, with a (non-recognized grader) grade of Very Good Eight. Coin showcases some good raised detail elements with a muddled "LIBERTY" on the obverse cap, and some separated feathers on the bust. Reverse wreath has overall good definition. Overall, coin shows moderate to significant wear and dulling of the raised detail portions. Both sides show minor to mild scratch and contact marks and both sides show some toning visible on both sides. This is a wonderful coin for collectors wishing to expand their growing U.S. Coin Collections! Please examine the pictures provided to best judge the items.
