This is an awesome Family Bible from 1875. It was published by O.A. Browning & Company from Toledo, Ohio, and London, Ontario, Canada. It has over 1000 illustrations and includes the Apocrypha, Concordance, the Psalms in metre, a Bible Dictionary and much more (see the photo of the title page). It is not stated, but this appears to be the King James translation. In the family records section, there is only one birth and one death recorded: Allison E. Goodrich, born 1851 died 1924. Stuck between the pages is a program for the Second Annual Commencement of the Ohio Central Normal School, Worthington, Ohio - Thursday, June 18th, 1874. Included in the program was an oration by William H. Goodrich from Worthington, O. [I think this should stay with the Bible, so you will get a bonus :-) You get another bonus with the four family portraits included, one of which appears to be A.E. Goodrich.] The condition of this 136 year old book is pretty remarkable, actually. There is some wear to the leather at the corners, edges and raised sections especially on the back. The brass clasps on the edge of the front cover indicate that there once were straps to keep the book closed, but the back brackets and straps are missing. The gilted decoration on the cover and page edges is a little worn but still pretty bright. There is some foxing, of course, but the pages are remarkably sound with only very small tears at the edges of a few pages near the front of the book and some small tears on the last page or two before the Family Portraits section at the very end of the book. And a small piece of the paper frame of one photo is torn and completely off but still present. The ribbon bookmarker is still attached, but barely. This Bible weighs about 13 1/2 lbs.
