This is a woodworkers plane with the date of July 6, 1875 on it. Although it is not stamped with the "Stanley" name, t is no doubt that this was made by the Stanley Tool Company. This is exactly like other size Stanley planes as far as the design on the handle is concerned as well as the shape of the item. This was probably made before Stanley started to stamp the name of the company on its product. The bottom section of the plane spins when a release button is disengaged. It has two small blades in it. The item measures approximately 10 " in length. It appears to be complete, but I am not totally sure of that. I have taken several photographs which should help a knowledgable tool collector in determining if it is. This item weighs about 2 pounds. The wooden knob has a small chi[p of wood missing at its base, but otherwise this appears to be in good condition.
