1 coin in sealed plastic wrap. Plastic wrap is extremily discolored. Coin is tarnished. 1876 Commermoration of the Hundredth Anniversary of American Independence Silver Medal. Minted by authority of the Congress of the United Staets. A very hard to find medal which is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. On the front of the coin, a scene is depicted in which the Genius of American Independence is in the act of standing up, holding in her right hand a sword, ready to fight for the rights of Americans. The sky is studded with thirteen shining stars that greet her outstretched left hand. The back of the coin has the words "In Commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of American independence,
