Recent estate sale find. This is one volume of 4 bound volumes of Harper's Bazar that we have listed for this week - 1877, 1878, 1879, & 1880.This volume includes all but the first issue (wk of Jan 6 - pgs 1 thru 16) for the year 1877, and would have had 832 pages of phenomenal sketches, drawings, and information on all aspects of ladies fashions. The first issue pulled free and is missing, reducing the page count by 18. For those unfamiliar with Harper's Bazar - in their words - A Repository of Fashion, Pleasure, and Instruction. The few pictures that we show are just a tiny sampling of what is contained in this volume. All of the drawings and sketches in these books is absolutely fantastic. Please note that some pages are torn and t is yellowing (for the age, it really isn't that bad). No bad smell. Cover is solid though the brown leather is dry and does make a dust powder when rubbed. Of the 4 we have listed, this is the roughest, but only because of the missing week & number of torn pages (around 40). Of those 40, 9 have pieces cut or torn from them.
