I have just purchased a very large estate consisting of many Civil War Swords, Civil War tintypes in their cases along with many other bayonets and military items. The estate consists of mainly vintage military and related items. I will be listing all of these items on Ebay. The collection also contains a very large grouping of handgun grips. Listed is a MODEL 1879 / 1895 BRITISH MARTINI BAYONET & SCABBARD. I have been told this is a Model 1879 / 1895 British Martini bayonet and scabbard in what looks to be in very good condition. The overall length of the bayonet is appx. 20-1/2". The blade is appx. 17-1/8" in length at the shoulder. One side of the triangular blade is marked with the letters "C S N" above a "CROWN" above the letter "B" and the number "39". T is a circular mark above "REEVES". The 3" socket and elbow retain traces of the original bluing. The socket is marked with the number "4" above a line and the number "440". The elbow is marked with what looks like the letter"L". The locking ring is intact and working. The socket diameter looks to be 3/4". The leather scabbard is also in very good condition. The leather is marked with the numbers "3 5 9" and "1882". The stitching is intact except at the very last stitch near the finial. Please contact me with any questions and I will do my best to answer them. All items read more
