1879 INDIAN HEAD CENT, Pleasing Coin, FULL BOLD LIBERTY
This is a pleasing full bold Liberty 1879 Indian Head Cent. It was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Weight: 3.11 Gram, 19 Millimeter, .950 Copper .050 Tin & Zinc. Mintage: 16,228,000. A Guide Book to United States Coins by R. S. Yeoman. Obverse: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA • LIBERTY • 1879 Reverse: ONE CENT The Coin: A pleasing example of this somewhat elusive date. It saw some use, has a few marks and sadly I think it may have been cleaned long ago. But it has a full bold LIBERTY and three nice diamonds on the ribbon as well as nice detail in the shield on the reverse. As grading is subjective please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
