ORIGINAL 1879 WEST VIRGINIA THANKSGIVING PROCLAMATION You are bidding on a original 1879 West Virginia Governor's Thanksgiving Proclamation Document. This Document measures 14 1/2 inches in length and 8 1/2 inches in width when folded and 17 inches when unfolded. This Document is dated November 14, 1879 and states the following by Governor Henry M. Mathews: I Henry M. Mathews, Governor of the State of West Virginia, do by appoint Thursday, November 27, 1879 as a Day of Thanksgiving and Prayer and we request that it be properly observed by the people of the state. This Proclamation is unsigned. The Document has a original West Virginia State Seal affixed. This Document shows some wear with some browning but the overall condition is good (see photos).
