This unusual 19th C. shield is all glass held together by a small metal frame. The top part has a botttom layer of white glass with a thin blue sheet of glass fused to it and parts o the blue are acid cut back to reveal the white layer. The same is true with the bottom layer of red glass on top of the white and then cut back to reveal the 2 layers. There are no chips or cracks an the condition is completely original. The width is 9 1/2" and the heigth is 10", not including the chain. Professional packing and shipping with insurance by The UPS Store is free. California buyers pay 9 3/4" sales tax.
